CULVER CITY, CA – May 17, 2017 – Sony Movie Channel (SMC) presents a June programming lineup packed with explosive epics, star-studded premieres, and more, airing in primetime all month long at 8 p.m. ET and 10 p.m. ET.

   

The roster is headlined by a Jean-Claude Van Damme week, as SMC kicks off summer with a six-day event putting the spotlight on some of the action icon’s hardest-hitting films every night at 8 p.m. ET from Monday, June 19 to Friday, June 23, culminating in a 12-film marathon on Saturday, June 24, starting at 4 a.m. ET. Highlights include NOWHERE TO RUN with Rosanna Arquette, and MAXIMUM RISK with Natasha Henstridge, (June 19); THE ORDER with Charlton Heston, and ASSASSINATION GAMES (June 20); UNIVERSAL SOLDIER: DAY OF RECKONING with Dolph Lundgren, and UNIVERSAL SOLDIER: THE RETURN with Michael Jai White (June 21); KNOCK OFF with Rob Schneider, and DOUBLE TEAM with Dennis Rodman (June 22); 6 BULLETS and THE SHEPHERD (June 23); and THE HARD CORPS with Vivica A. Fox, and SECOND IN COMMAND (June 24).

   

SMC’s June slate will also feature five channel premieres airing throughout the month at 8 p.m. ET, kicking off with Martin Lawrence as a conman going undercover as a cop to pull off a diamond heist in BLUE STREAK, with Luke Wilson and Dave Chappelle, on Friday, June 2. Other premieres include Bill Murray in Ivan Reitman’s quintessential 1979 summer camp comedy MEATBALLS (June 3); Mel Gibson and Heath Ledger in the Revolutionary War epic THE PATRIOT (June 4); Sam Worthington and Elizabeth Banks in the 2012 crime caper MAN ON A LEDGE (June 9); and Sean Penn and Esai Morales in the 1983 reform school thriller BAD BOYS (June 12).

   

And SMC pays tribute to the 1977 Peter Benchley thriller THE DEEP, with a special 40TH Anniversary broadcast at 8 p.m. ET on Saturday, June 17—the date of its original release. The underwater thriller stars Nick Nolte and Jacqueline Bisset as a couple hunting for treasure in Bermuda. The idyllic getaway soon becomes a nightmare, however, when their exploration of a treacherous shipwreck puts them in the path of a deadly drug lord (Louis Gossett Jr.). Robert Shaw and Eli Wallach also star. The film was written by Benchley, based on his 1976 novel of the same name, and featured disco legend Donna Summer on the Golden Globe-nominated theme “Down Deep Inside.”
